Both luxury vinyl tile and plank are forms of luxury vinyl flooring. Although they are different in style, their composition is the same. With the combination of complete waterproof capability, durability, and style, the flooring is ideal for kitchens, baths, laundry rooms, and living/dining and bedrooms.
Stunning visuals
This premium yet very affordable product offers true-to-life images of wood, stone, and tile taken with high-definition photography. They are vibrant, clear, and accurate and have micro beveling and embossing to add depth, dimension, and textured looks, such as wire-brushed, hand scraped, weathered, and distressed.
They are cut into the plank (LVP) or tile (LVT) forms to add realism. Many say the extra seams add realism, while some use plank for stone mimics because of the larger format and fewer seams. That gives it a more continuous look, some say.
Durability to withstand kids, pets, and other wear
Whether you choose plank or tile, you'll be sure of getting a product that's five times thicker than the original product. The top layer is a transparent, strong melamine sheet protecting the floor from scratches and scuffs. On top of that is a clear urethane coating that adds extra shine and strength. True LVF should measure 8-mm to 12-mm in thickness with the wear layer measured separately; 20?mils is best for heavily trafficked rooms.
You?re only limited by your imagination
LVF is an affordable way to transform your home. For example, you can turn your bathroom into an upscale spa with marble-look floors; create a European palazzo setting with travertine or terrazzo LVF floors, or give the playroom a retro feeling with pops of color and an LVT floor.
